WASA’s Acting CEO Kelvin Romain has confirmed that works are continuing on a new surge line at the Caroni Water Treatment Plant in Piarco.
Works began last Friday after WASA had to repair a leaking 48 inch transmission pipeline, which disrupted the water supply for more than 200,000 persons across North Trinidad.
Following that situation, Mr Romain said a new surge line would replace the existing one.
In a Whatsapp message to 103.1FM News this afternoon, he said some of the works being conducted are pipe surveys, routing the new line path, and transporting a 48 inch pipeline to the Caroni Plant.
Mr Romain also assured there would be no water disruptions during the period of these works.
