A 46-year-old man held in Champ Fleurs on Election Day has been charged with bribery.
That morning, police intercepted a car on Mt. Dor Road, after receiving information that someone was offering and paying people $300 to $400 to vote for a particular party.
When the officer informed him of the allegations, the man allegedly stated that he was paid $800 to drive, and produced $30,000 which he claimed to have received from a “sou sou.”
The accused appeared before Master Gray yesterday and was granted bail on his own recognizance.
He will reappear on June 5th 2025.
