Marvin Gonzales will serve as the MP for Arouca/Lopinot.

This as the EBC today said that the official recount in the constituency has confirmed the PNM as the winning party.

It says the final certified vote count for Arouca/Lopinot is as follows:

• PNM – 7,958
• UNC – 7,699
• PF – 537
• NTA – 146
• Rejected Ballots – 41

The EBC says the recount was conducted in compliance with Election Rule 101, following a formal request by the UNC for a general recount, encompassing poll card verifications.

The recount in the San Fernando East constituency is still underway.
