A bomb threat led to delays in the inter-island ferry service this morning.
According to the T&T Inter-Island Transportation Co, the threat was received via an anonymous telephone call at 9:15am and reported to the Safety Department.
At the time the call was received, both the Buccoo Reef and A.P.T. James had departed
their respective ports – the Buccoo Reef left Port of Spain with 907 passengers and 181 vehicles onboard, while the A.P.T. James departed Scarborough with 285 passengers and 73 vehicles.
The Galleons Passage and M.V. Cabo Star did not sail as scheduled today.
The Police Service and Fire Service were notified and conducted thorough investigations at the Terminals.
Following this, the Captains were granted clearance to proceed with berthing operations at their respective destinations.
