A body found at Mussarap Trace in Barrackpore is said to be 15-year-old Malini Persad.

This is according to her father who spoke after the discovery was made around 12:30pm yesterday.

The body was found by the Hunters Search and Rescue Team led by Vallence Rambharat, after the teen was reported missing earlier this week.

The body will be examined to establish a cause of death.

Speaking to reporters at the scene in Barrackpore, her father, Andrew Persad, said she was a quiet and co-operative child who was loved by all members of the family.

Relatives are calling for justice and asking persons to come forward with any information that could lead to an arrest.
