Finance Ministry joins with US Border Protection to strengthen Customs operations

The Finance Ministry and the US Border and Customs Protection have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen operations of the Customs and Excise Division.

Finance Minister Vishnu Dhanpaul pledged continued assistance to the US, providing the necessary resources required for protecting T&T’s borders.

The US Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires Jennifer Neidhart de Ortiz said the agreement formalizes a common commitment to address the challenges of transnational criminal activity.

She added that this will provide additional security for the entire Caribbean region.
