TTMA president: local manufactuers will adapt in the face of tax impositions

The TTMA’s new president has promised that local manufacturers will not be inactive due to tax impositions by the United States.

Dale Parson said they will instead adapt, be innovative and dynamic, and hopes to discuss it further with the Trade Minister.

Mr Parson also laid out some of the TTMA’s strategic goals which include: growing exports from $6.2 to $10.6 billion by 2030, and to foster the growth of SMEs for local retail and export.

He also hopes to work with Government to acquire a 20 acre parcel in a centralized area to build a 200,000 sq ft Caribbean Trade and Convention Centre.

Mr Parson believes this will help position T&T as the regional manufacturing powerhouse.
