PM and Finance Minister to discuss forex issue with banking sector next week

Next week, Prime Minister Stuart Young and Finance Minister Vishnu Dhanpaul will meet with members of the banking sector to discuss the country’s pressing forex issue.

In today’s post cabinet briefing, Mr Young said it will include members of the Central Bank, the Bankers Association, senior bank officials and other stakeholders.

He acknowledged a forex shortage, adding that the purpose of the meeting is to find solutions to address the issue and ascertain the best means to allocate the current reserves to the public.

It will take place at White Hall, next Tuesday at 2:30PM.
