Reggae legend Cocoa Tea has died

Jamaican reggae legend Colvin ‘Cocoa Tea’ Scott has died.

A report by the Jamaica Gleaner says the singer’s death was confirmed by his wife, Malvia Scott.

He was 65.

He died this morning at a hospital in Broward, Ft Lauderdale, Florida, following a cardiac arrest.

According to the report, Scott was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2019, and was more recently struggling with pneumonia.

He released over 30 albums during the course of his career and is known for songs like “Rikers Island”, “Sweet Sweet Cocoa Tea”, “Hurry Up and Come”, “Holy Mount Zion” and “Good Life”.
