Attorney Prakash Ramadhar says he is disappointed that nothing has been done to improve safety for industrial workers using the recommendations from the Commission of Enquiry into the Paria Diving Tragedy.
Mr Ramadhar represented two of the families during the Enquiry’s hearings.
His comments today come on the three year anniversary of the incident that claimed the lives of Fyzal Kurban, Rishi Nagessar, Yusuf Henry and Kazim Ali Jr.
Mr Ramadhar also criticized delays in providing compensation for the families, and believes police have been irresponsible in their handling of an investigation into the matter.
The TTPS is still seeking to determine if there is enough evidence to charge anyone with manslaughter due to gross negligence in the deaths of the four divers.
