NTA Leader Gary Griffith has criticized the National Security Minister’s silence on the matter of missing Defence Force ammunition.

Over 25,000 rounds were found to be missing during a physical examination at the Cumuto Barracks earlier this month.

In a statement, Mr Griffith says Minister Fitzgerald Hinds must engage with the Defence Force on the matter, and ensure an external audit to determine whether the ammo was used for training, transferred to other units, or stolen.

He also believes the Minister’s silence will exacerbate public fear and confusion, and shows a disregard for transparency and accountability.
