Incumbent Oropouche East MP confirmed he will be offering himself for screening ahead of the 2025 elections.

Dr. Roodal Moonilal was speaking at the funeral of Premchand “Doc” Sookoo, who he described as a political father who remained committed to the community.

He also posthumously recognized Mr. Sookoo as the Oropouche East campaign manager for 2025.

UNC Political Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar praised the former Chairman for his contribution to society and fondly remembered his impact on the early development of her political career.
