OWTU wins Court of Appeal matter on 0-0-0% offer

The OWTU says it has won its Court of Appeal matter regarding a 0-0-0% T&TEC salary ruling by the Industrial Court.

The ruling in February 2022 related to the period 2015 to 2017.

The OWTU says the appeal court held that the Industrial Court erred in relying on evidence in the form of minutes of a Parliament sub-committee and from T&TEC’s then General Manager Kelvin Ramsook, without giving the union opportunity to respond.

It adds that Court also found that the Industrial Court had not acted consistently with fundamental principles of fairness and natural justice.

103.1FM News has reached out to T&TEC for a statement.
