Public Utilities Ministry: Measures taken to address rat infestation at HQ

The Public Utilities Ministry says it has taken steps to curtail the potential threat of a rat infestation at the Port of Spain head office.

In a media release, the Ministry says the issue was first identified in January and it has since engaged the Rodent Control Unit of the Port of Spain City Corporation, OSHA and the PSA.

It notes that it is also working with MTS to increase surveillance, cleaning and sanitizing of the entire compound.

Additionally, a pest control contractor will assess the situation over the next few days to determine the best course of action for effectively addressing the issue.
