UWI’s Seismic Research Centre has revised the strength and location of an earthquake recorded this afternoon.

The tremor was initially reported as being magnitude 4.3 and located off the coast of Venezuela.

An update from UWI-SRC has since revised the magnitude downward, to 3.6.

It is also now being reported as having taken place on mainland Venezuela.

On the image below, the additional circles are other earthquakes recorded over the past few months.

The one enclosed in red, is the earthquake recorded today.
