Parents today staged a demonstration to highlight a number of concerns with the St Dominic’s Penal RC School.

A major concern was the continued use of the church to house the Infants Department.

Other issues include: no security guard, no access to AC units, no play area for infants, an unsafe carpark, inadequate washrooms, the sharing of washrooms with other persons using the church,and classes being disrupted for church events.

103.1FM News reached out to the Catholic Education Board of Management which says it has sought an update from the Education Ministry on plans for rebuilding the school.

It also requested an update on the provision of an additional security guard for the Infants Department.
