Guyana officials are investigating the connection between recent fires and gas cylinders.

Stabroek News says a couple died after one of the recent incidents and officials have now met three times to look into the matter.

A gas tank caught fire in one of the cases, while in another case the cylinder exploded.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) says there will be further detailed investigations at the retailer and consumer levels, including matters related to transportation, storage and use of the gas cylinders.
