A 23-year-old artiste was due to appear in court today charged with professing to be a gang member in order to promote a gang.

The La Brea resident was arrested on January 29th 2025, during ongoing State of Emergency operations.

He was charged on advice of the Deputy DPP after video clips were obtained and analysed by the TTPS’ Cyber and Social Media Unit.

Meanwhile, the National Security Minister has granted two applications for Preventative Detention Orders.

One of the PDOs covered seven persons, while the other pertained to a single individual.

Preventative Detention Orders allow the detention of a person to prevent them from acting in a way that could endanger public safety.
