A T&T fugitive has been extradited to the U.S. to face charges of attempted murder and weapons possession.

Vincent Roberts, fled the US to T&T in December 2022 while out on bond awaiting trial in the state of New York.

He was arrested in Laventille on April 17th 2024 and the warrant for his extradition was signed by the Attorney General on January 22nd 2025.

Roberts, who is a U.S. permanent resident, was sent back yesterday and will now be tried for one count of attempted murder, one count of attempted assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

If convicted, he will face a possible sentence of 25 years in prison.
