Vivian Adams joins the centenarian club!

Centenarian Vivian Adams says her children and grandchildren are her “proudest achievements.”

Vivian celebrated her 100th birthday on February 1st 2025.

Fondly known as ‘Payne’ and ‘Vivi’, she was born and raised in D’Abadie, worked as a seamstress for much of her life, and has six children, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

She attributes her longevity to the simple philosophy of “living one day at a time” and offered the following advice to today’s generation: “Have respect for yourselves and others.”

Vivian was honoured by the Social Development Ministry as part of its National Centenarian Programme, which recognizes and celebrates individuals who reach the extraordinary age of 100.

Staff from the Division of Ageing were on hand at a celebration hosted at Omardeen’s Reception Hall, Cipero Street San Fernando.

During this time, she was presented with a cake courtesy KISS Baking Company, hampers from HADCO and National Flour Mills, and a Certificate of Achievement.
