New British High Commissioner: T&T has major renewable energy potential

T&T has been identified as a country with major potential for renewable energy in the Caribbean.

This is according to newly appointed British High Commissioner Jon Dean who met with Energy Minister Stuart Young yesterday.

Mr Dean said, in particular, T&T has been seen to have potential in the field of wind energy.

He was informed by Minister Young of the country’s ongoing initiatives, including deployment of LiDAR devices to measure wind data, and the construction of a solar farm at Brechin Castle.

Mr Dean took up the role as High Commissioner in December 2024, taking over from Harriet Cross who has since been named as the incoming Governor of Montserrat.
