A priest who was beaten and robbed of his car on Saturday has been discharged from hospital.

The Archdiocese of Port of Spain says Father Maurice White is recovering well following the incident in Sangre Grande which reportedly left him with a head injury.

The Archdiocese adds that it is continuing to cooperate with authorities in the matter.

Police say three suspects were held in the stolen Toyota Aqua in Freeport on the day of the robbery.
