A possible a rat infestation at the Cypress Hills Housing Development in San Fernando has the attention of the HDC.

This is according to a release from the corporation which says this may have occurred due to illegal disposal of garbage which began during the 2024 Christmas season.

HDC says, even though it has put up signs to dissuade people from the illegal dumping and has implemented a five-day-a-week garbage collection, persons have continued the practice.

It says the excess garbage collected over the Christmas period may have led to a rat infestation which it is partnering with the San Fernando City Corporation to address.

The HDC is again urging residents and visitors to adhere to proper garbage disposal practices.
