Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar is standing by her comments regarding the Joe Biden administration.

Yesterday, in a statement welcoming new US President Donald Trump, Mrs Persad-Bissessar described the outgoing administration as “a disaster for the American people and the world.”

This led to criticism from members of the public and fellow politicians.

Among them is NTA Political Leader Gary Griffith, who believes there was a failure of sound diplomatic judgment.

In a defiant statement issued today, the Opposition Leader insists that people are fed up with “woke far left, nonsensical policies” based on the use of identity politics, moral superiority and division.

She listed several issues, from gender pronouns and gender reassignment surgery for children, to weaponization of the judicial system and the two tiered Justice system.

She adds that since 2020, she has been advocating against “this woke far-left extreme insanity”.

She adds, “It’s time for the world to move on from the insanity and destructive, divisive policies of the Joe Biden democrat administration.”
