A yellow-level high winds alert has been issued for Trinidad and Tobago.
The Met Service says, from today until 6pm on Thursday, there is a high potential (85%) for wind gusts in excess of 55km/h.
Strong gusts are mainly expected in the vicinity of showers and, although the stronger gusts may be brief, they are capable of displacing unsecured roofs, loose outdoor objects, trees and weak structures.
Persons are advised to secure loose outdoor objects, livestock and marine craft.
During this same period, a yellow-level hazardous seas alert is also in place.
