Senate to debate Coat of Arms bill tomorrow

The bill to replace Christopher Columbus’ ships with a gold steelpan and pan sticks on the Coat of Arms will go to the Senate tomorrow.

The National Emblems of Trinidad and Tobago (Regulation) (Amendment) Bill, 2025 will read and debated and once passed, it will head for proclamation by the President and become law.

Pan Trinbago has endorsed the new design for the Coat of Arms (pictured above), saying it is a significant representation of the nation’s identity, heritage, and cultural evolution.

Government says the former Coat of Arms may be used until January 1st, 2026, or such later date as may be prescribed by Order.

Tomorrow’s Senate sitting starts at 1:30pm.
