2025 will see the first ever Ultimate Soca Champion Competition.

The event is a collaborative venture by Jerome “Itz Rome” Precilla, Rodney Seemungal of SGP Studios, Sheldon Stephen of Lollabee Group and Adrian Chandler of Strictly FX/Air Committee.

Regarding the event, Mr. Precilla said, “This competition is something our culture and soca industry need. As someone who has been a part of previous Soca and Chutney Soca competitions, and I have seen artistes give their all on the competiton stage …From the props, the dancers , the costuming , the numerous rehearsals, these competition stages put our culture in a magnificent light in front of millions of viewers who watch the shows not only live but on TV and through live streaming.”

The competition will feature two events:

• Youth Soca Champion (Ages 16-25)
  Grand Prize: $200,000
• Ultimate Soca Champion
  Open to top soca artists across the region and internationally
  Grand Prize: $1 Million

There are no Groovy/Power categories, however there will be special prizes for Best Groovy Soca, Best Power Soca, and People’s Champion (based on public votes).

The event will also feature a reality TV show aimed at giving viewers an intimate look into the competition.

Deadlines announced are:

• Online Video Auditions Open: Monday, January 20th 2025 at 8 am
• Deadline for Online Submissions: Sunday, January 26th 2025, at 11:59 PM
• Auditions/ Preliminaries : Saturday January 25th 2025 , at 9am
• Semi-Finals: Sunday, February 9th 2025
• Grand Finale: Thursday, February 20th 2025
