The TTPS is reporting a 44% reduction in murders.

At a media briefing today, ACP Richard Smith presented statistcs showing 14 murders so far for 2025, compared with 25 for the same period last year.

He went on to give a breakdown by division.

Also at the briefing was DCP Junior Benjamin, who responded to a question regarding the Prime Minister’s claim that officers at some stations turn off the lights and close their doors at night.

2025 began with T&T under a State of Emergency.
