Minister hands over $$ for unsponsored steelbands

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts has handed over cheques to Pan Trinbago for unsponsored steelbands.

Today, Minister Randall Mitchell presented a total of $2,420,000 which will go towards 149 unsponsored steelbands.

The Ministry recently announced an increase in the amounts, with Single Pan Bands now getting $10,000 per band, and Conventional Bands getting $20,000 per band.

Additionally, the per-player allocation has increased to $800, to help cover critical expenses such as food and transportation.

The Ministry says the increased funding aims to boost participation for Panorama 2025, promote greater inclusivity within the Steelband community and assist with competition preparations.
