T&TEC has responded to a social media post containing the photo of a man who some believed was pretending to be from the power company.
That man, it says, is in fact an employee of a legitimate T&TEC contractor.
In a statement, the Commission says the individual was conducting authorised business when the photo was taken.
T&TEC also reminds that it does, on occasion, carry out checks of meters and needs to access customers’ properties to do so.
It sometimes uses the service of contractors, and reminds that all employees or representatives are required to display their Commission issued identification and/or present it on request.
