The Central Registry on Gender-Based Violence’s Umbono System has been launched.
The Registry is designed to collect and integrate information relating to persons who are the victims or perpetrators of gender based violence.
The Umbono System meanwhile was developed in-house to help capture real time data on activities and incidents related to GBV in T&T.
This includes information on GBV clients and their families, the perpetrators of abuse, and the agencies that engage in protection, assessment, assistance and referrals for care, treatment and resolution.
At the launch event held today, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Ayanna Webster-Roy emphasized the importance of such data.
