Two persons were held as police seized US and TT currencies during an exercise in Tacarigua.

During an operation between 10:30pm on Monday and 6:30am on Tuesday, officers searched a house on Huggins Street.

They reportedly found TT$2,158,166 and US$89,450.

A 49-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, who were in the house at the time, were arrested in connection with the find.

Investigators at the Financial Investigations Bureau were contacted and enquiries are ongoing.
