The NCIC has written to the Police Commissioner, calling for an investigation into a video it says contains comments which can be deemed seditious.

The letter references a video recorded in front of a murti at the NCIC Nagar compound and repeated instances at other places of worship, including a mosque in Chaguanas.

It believes the comments being made by the individual in the video can have a damaging effect and could be interpreted as calling retribution on those of the faith.

The NCIC believes the video could also create or intensify feelings of hatred or resentment towards the Hindu population.

It says the matter requires urgent attention as it has the potential to severely affect religious/culture cohesion in T&T.
