The Energy Ministry says a team will be appointed to conduct a detailed investigation into the partial collapse of a rig yesterday morning.
Rig 110 in the Heritage Offshore East Field was engaged in drilling activities when one leg of the rig collapsed shortly after 3am.
It is operated by Well Services Limited.
At this time, there is no word on 47-year-old Pete Phillip, who has been missing since the incident.
Well Services adds that person was injured and has since received medical care, while all other personnel were accounted for.
Meanwhile Heritage Petroleum says it is providing support to Well Services Ltd – it says Heritage personnel were deployed onsite and were in constant contact with the company in relation to the continuing management of the incident.
