Additional details have emerged regarding Zaheer Samuel’s ordeal after being kidnapped.
The14-year-old was found in Valencia, several hours after being kidnapped from his family’s store in St Augustine.
He was bundled into a car by two men around 5:30am on Wednesday, as he was helping to open his family’s plant store along the Eastern Main Road.
The TTPS says officers acting on gathered intelligence conducted thorough searches of multiple camps along San Pablo Road, with the aim of locating the victim.
During this time, they received critical information from the Valencia Charge Room, prompting the officers to head to Defreitas Ranch, off Quarry Road.
It says Zaheer was found unharmed, on the roadway near the ranch.
The teenager was taken to the Arima Health Facility, where he was reunited with his family.
A medical exam confirmed he was in stable condition and he was subsequently discharged into his father’s care.
According to newspaper reports, the teenager was tied up, blindfolded and left in a forested area by his captors.
He managed to escape, walking for several hours before coming across a house where he called for help.
