The Fire Service says a “comprehensive coverage plan” is in place following July’s closure of the Princes Town Fire Station.
The station was closed as the building was deemed uninhabitable and the Fire Service says work is ongoing to secure alternative accommodation.
It adds that steps have been taken to have the station demolished and rebuilt, as per the recommendation of the Works Ministry.
However, it notes that the current coverage plan utilizes surrounding stations since the Princes Town facility was closed.
The Fire Service’s statement follows a call this week by the Chairman of the Princes Town Regional Corporation for the station to be reopened or for alternative arrangements to be implemented.
