Kidnap victim Zaheer Samuel has been safely located.

This is according to an update by the Hunters Search and Rescue Team led by Vallence Rambharat which posted last night to say that the 14-year-old was undergoing a medical check-up.

Zaheer was bundled into a vehicle as his parents were opening their plant shop along the Eastern Main Road in St Augustine yesterday morning.

The incident led to call by St Augustine MP Khadijah Ameen for a police mobile unit to be established in Curepe.

She believes the brazen kidnapping highlights the urgent need for a comprehensive strategy to combat crime.
