St Augustine MP Khadijah Ameen is again calling for a Police Mobile Unit in Curepe, following the kidnapping of a teenager in the area this morning.

14-year-old Zaheer Samuel was with his parents at their plant shop along the Eastern Main Road around 5:30am, when two men bundled him into a brown wagon and sped off.

MP Ameen says the brazen kidnapping of a child from his family business not only strikes fear into the hearts of citizens, but also highlights the urgent need for a comprehensive strategy to combat crime.

She has since called for urgent action to find him saying, “This level of brazenness cannot become normalized.”
