The Ministry of Works and Transport is in the process of drafting a policy to ensure vehicle license plates are made only by authorized entities.

This revelation came today from Minister Rohan Sinanan as he responded to a question from the Opposition in the Parliament.

Mr Sinanan also expects a draft of this policy to be submitted to the Cabinet before the end of the year.

Recently there have been calls for the Government to regulate the manufacture of vehicle licence plates, given the rampant use of fake plates by criminals.
