A couple was shot dead in their Claxton Bay home last night.

Around 9:05pm, officers responded to a report of a shooting at No. 6 Teak Drive, Macaulay Road.

On arrival, they were directed to a flat wooden two bedroom structure, where they found the motionless body of Basdeo Lallan in a sitting position against a wooden wall.

In a bedroom was his partner, Whitney Narine, who appeared to have been shot in the head.

The couple have a 7-month-old child who was unhurt.
