The Met Service has expanded its Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert to include Tobago.
It says an approaching trough continues to produce periods of light to moderate showers and areas of heavier showers and thunderstorms intermittently.
It adds while the majority of the activity thus far has impacted mainly north Trinidad, this is also expected to extend into Tobago.
Some improvement is expected overnight, however showers and thunderstorms are forecast to increase in frequency and intensity from early tomorrow morning.
For hilly areas, especially along the Northern Range, there is still a heightened risk of landslides and landslips as there has been continuous rainfall for the past few hours.
Additional impacts include street/flash flooding and gusty winds in the vicinity of heavy downpours.
The Alert is scheduled to remain in place until 4pm tomorrow, November 27th 2024.
