The HDC says it is aware of a sewer leakage issue currently affecting a resident at his home in Ibis Gardens, Caroni.

It says the issue arose as a result of the recent torrential rainfall experienced over the past few days – the excessive downpour infiltrated the sewer lines, leading to an overflow and related challenges.

The HDC says its technical teams are collaborating with the relevant authorities and service providers to resolve the issue as swiftly as possible.

It expects the matter to be addressed by Tuesday, November 26th 2024.

To assist with resolving matters as these, the HDC is encouraging residents to:

1. Minimise Water Usage: Reduce non-essential water usage to help alleviate the strain on the sewer system.
2. Report Issues Promptly: Notify the HDC of any sewer-related concerns, including specific areas of overflow or blockage.
3. Maintain Access: Ensure access to affected areas for our technical teams and service providers to facilitate repairs.
