In a statement for World Fisheries Day today, he says recent estimates highlight the sector’s significant contributions, with annual fish landings valued at over $227 million.
He adds that the recent focus is sustainable fisheries management
According to the Minister, there has been collaboration with the Global Environment Facility and the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization and others to reduce bycatch, conserve marine biodiversity and advance the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries.
