The Public Services Association is planning to write to the DPP and Police Commissioner to request a “misbehaviour in public office” investigation.
This follows reports that a high court judge found evidence of misconduct and an apparent attempt to pervert the course of justice in an investigation against an employee.
The court matter was brought by a WASA employee who investigated a fellow employee accused of allowing a non-WASA employee to drive a WASA vehicle.
Public Utilities Minister Marvin Gonzales was allegedly an eyewitness to the breach.
The employee claimed that, despite his findings, company tried to pressure him into finding against the accused.
The PSA believes no government minister has the right to interference in the business of WASA and is also calling for a police investigation into misbehaviour in public office.
