Desalcott has restarted the Point Lisas Desalination Plant.
The facility was shut down earlier this week to facilitate planned maintenance works.
It was restarted at approximately 5pm on Saturday 16th November 2024, one day ahead of the originally scheduled completion time.
Desalcott has since advised WASA that production at the facility is currently being ramped up and is expected to continue towards attaining full production and delivery of 40 million gallons per day (mgd) by today – Sunday 17th November, 2024.
As such, WASA says it will work towards the gradual normalization of its transmission and distribution system over the coming days.
In the interim, the Authority says it is working to service affected customers in keeping with the published temporary water supply schedules, as the system stabilizes.
