India Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Guyana for a state visit from November 19th to 21st, 2024.
According to the Guyana Office of the President, PM Modi’s visit comes on the invitation of Dr Irfaan Ali and follows Dr Ali’s visit to India in 2023.
During his visit, PM Modi will engage in summit-level bilateral discussions with Dr Ali and will also co-chair the 2nd India-CARICOM Summit in Georgetown alongside Grenada Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell and Dr Ali.
He is also scheduled to address the National Assembly of Parliament.
Also on his agenda is an address to the Indian community and the Indian diaspora in Guyana, a floral tribute at the Mahatma Gandhi statue at the Promenade Garden in Georgetown and a visit to the Indian Arrival Monument in the Monument Garden.
The monument commemorates the arrival of the first ship carrying Indian indentured labourers to the Caribbean.
