Desalcott’s week long shutdown of its desalination plant in Point Lisas has begun.
From November 11th to 17th, the plant is scheduled to undergo planned maintenance works.
In the interim, WASA has implemented revised supply schedules for parts of Central and South Trinidad.
Other measures put in place during the shutdown are: the re-distribution of supply from the Caroni and Navet Water Treatment Plants and increased water trucking capacity.
WASA previously stated that the works were initially planned for September, but were rescheduled due to the impact of the harsh dry season.
