MP reiterates: T&T needs adequate border manpower, operational radar

An MP is reiterating his belief that T&T is in need of fully equipped patrol vessels, adequate manpower and operational radar systems.

This week, it was revealed that mobile scanners for the ports in Port of Spain and Point Lisas had arrived in T&T.

However, Oropouche West MP Dave Tancoo commented on 103.1FM’s story on the matter to say that illegal guns and drugs, and human trafficking, are not being facilitated via legal ports.

Instead, as he reiterates in a media release today, he believes the country’s borders have been left “wide open and unmonitored.”

He says the PNM has failed over the past few years to implement and equip border protection, leading to an influx of guns and drugs to fuel a “war against citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.”
