The TTPS says it continues to pursue the investigation into the kidnapping of businessman Suvesh Ramnarine.
Ramnarine was released this morning, after he was taken by men dressed as police in Cunupia on October 12th.
The TTPS says the kidnappers allegedly contacted his family around 1:15 this morning, and instructed them to pick him up at a location in Cunupia.
A male relative arrived at the location around 1:54am and found Ramnarine waiting at Jerningham Road.
He was subsequently taken for medical attention, examined and subsequently discharged.
The TTPS says he is reported to be in good spirits and has been advised to rest at home.
He has also been referred to the Victim and Witness Support Unit, where professional counselling will be available to support his recovery.
The TTPS says, “…investigations into this incident are still actively being conducted by a team of officers under the Supervision of DCP Martin, ACP Simon, Snr Supt Guy Alleyne, Supt Etienne and including officers from several units within the TTPS namely AKU, SIU, NOTF, GEB, IATF and the Special Branch. Anyone with information that could assist in apprehending those responsible is kindly asked to come forward.”
