An early morning shooting today claimed the life of an on-duty policeman in Point Fortin.

According to reports, PC Krishna Banahar and a colleague were at St Rose Street in Guapo where there was an exchange of gunfire with suspects.

The officer, his colleague and an unidentified suspect were hit – PC Banahar and the suspect died.

A search has been started for another suspect in the incident.
